CLASS DESCRIPTION

Contemporary Jazz - Dancing Meditation

A fusion of Ballet, Modern, and Jazz, Salim’s unique style explores a wide range of organic, often angular movements that are Graham inspired with a strong base in classical technique. His Contemporary class emphasizes artistry and musicality, while it challenges the dancer to move in new, unconventional ways.

Starting with a warm-up of Modern-influenced, Ballet and Jazz-based exercises mixed with Yoga and incorporating meditation that focuses on proper execution and alignment while taking the student on a journey, people have called his class “Dancing Meditation”. The class evolves to the learning of Salim’s original choreography, broken down and demonstrated for clear understanding. Salim’s emphasis on proper use of breathing is another strong base in his class. Designed for Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced students, an understanding of the classical vocabulary and previous experience with Jazz and/or Modern dance are helpful.

Sundays 12:30- 2:30pm NY time, 17:30- 19:30 Europe time! Classes are a total of $30usd for 4, 2 hour Classes. Full ImpulsTanz Warm up with meditation. We will work intensively on a combination with an extended warmup. If you miss one class, you should be fine, I usually go very slow every beginning to clean and also have my students learn the choreography the best! Once I receive your message (fill out contact page and submit), you will be added to the list. So your spot is reserved. Once payment is received, your spot will be confirmed and receive a video before the workshop with the choreography we will learn. This one is seriously breathtaking and not to be missed!
